What Can We Expect with InvisalignⓇ First?
It takes a few weeks for the InvisalignⓇ lab to fabricate the custom aligners. Once they’re ready, your child will visit their North Long Beach orthodontist so we can try the aligners on and provide instructions to you and your child.
The clear aligners will gently shift your child’s teeth each day. Every few weeks, your child might need a new set of aligners to continue with each phase of treatment. Some children – typically those with minor alignment issues – only need one set of aligners. Those with more complex cases often need at least two sets.
While your child is wearing their aligners, they can eat whatever they want. Just be sure they remove the aligners before eating.
To practice oral hygiene at home, your child simply needs to remove the aligners, then brush and floss as usual. The aligners will need to be cleaned once a day. Your orthodontic team will provide aligner care instructions and inform you how long your child needs to wear the aligners (typically 20-22 hours per day).
